The Real Estate Association of Edmonton (RAE) expects the market to
remain stable and balanced throughout 2024, with opportunities for both
selling and buying. It predicts a 2.8% increase in total sales from 2023, as
follows: 5% more houses, 4% more half duplexes, 4.4% more apartments,
and 2% more townhouses.
RAE also expects 1.2% increase in average residential sale price from
2023, and an increase of almost 5% in listings overall, particularly for half
duplexes (9.2%).
Demand from buyers and investors for apartments will continue to be high,
mainly due to the increase in interest rates that reduced the purchasing
budget for some buyers and had others opt to continue renting.
